Clinical Psychologist - Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) job in Corpus Christi, Texas. 

The  job is a civilian position within the extensive military medical system. Civilian and military personnel work together in hospitals and clinics providing a full range of services to the active duty military service members, military retirees, and their families.

Clinical Psychologist - Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) Job Overview:

  • Provide concise documentation of care and recommendations in patient's medical record in no less than twenty four (24) hours after the patient is seen.
  • Participate in approximately sixteen (16) sessions per day to include individual and group appointments.
  • Participate in group medical appointments including Shared Medical Appointments (SMA) and Drop in Group Medical Appointments (DIGMA) as requested by the primary care manager (PCM).
  • Provide technical direction and clinical insight into relevant projects being conducted at the site of service.
  • Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges. 
  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.  
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders. 
  • Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries. 
  • Assist in rehabilitation of patients. 

Clinical Psychologist - Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) Job Qualifications:

  • A one (1) year fellowship or residency in health psychology or behavioral medicine 

OR

  • Possess one (1) year of experience in the last four (4) years in the evaluation and treatment of patients who have pain, psychological factors affecting their physical condition, or difficulty coping with medical problems.

 

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD)
  • Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. 
  • Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association. 
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any U.S. jurisdiction. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) by AHA

 

 

 Position contingent on contract award with a Fall 2019 start date.
