Counsels individuals and provides group educational and vocational guidance services.  Assists professional staff members to provide a wide range of social services to military families. Interviews clients to determine assistance required and arranges for the delivery of services or refers to another service provider for assistance.  Assists clients to schedule attendance at events and activities. Records attendance at scheduled counseling sessions and events.  Assists clients in the use of automated support systems and tools.  Responsibilities may include transition and job assistance counseling, well-being programs, wounded warrior advocacy, or assault or domestic violence advocacy.  Assists in the completion of related reports and documents.

 

 

Junior

Duties as described above.  BA/BS degree in counseling, behavioral or social science, human resources management, education, or related field required. 

 

Mid-Level

Duties as described above and expanded to include:  Directs and assists other counselors/advocates.  Ensures applicable policies and procedures are applied in case management and delivery of services.  Conducts quality control/remedial training efforts to ensure effectiveness and customer satisfaction.  Responds to customer concerns/complaints.  Coordinates with Government managers on event scheduling.  May serve as the principle contractor presence at a Government site for the operation of counseling, advocacy, or community well-being programs.  Assists in the marketing of well-being activities as well as the education and training of installation managers, supervisors, commanders, and leaders regarding well-being concepts and initiatives.  BA/BS degree in counseling, behavioral or social science, human resources management, education, or related field required. 

 

Senior

Duties as described above and expanded to include:  Manages a contract counseling or advocacy office or activity located on a Government installation or serving Government personnel located at multiple locations.  Coordinates services with Government managers and may assist with development of programs. Implements new procedures and policies directed by responsible contract and Government managers. MA/MS degree in counseling, behavioral or social science, human resources management, education, or related field required.
