Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Pediatric Critical Care / Nurse Anesthetist Job Overview:

  • Diagnose, treat, evaluate and manage acute and chronic illness patients.
  • Provide prenatal care, family planning, well-child care services and primary and specialty care services, health-maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals
  • Coordinate patient care through a continuum and facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain excellent patient assessment skills. Use the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
  • Excellent oral communication skills for patient/family education.
  • Prescribes and communicates treatment plans in accordance with established cardiac clinic protocols.
  • Telephone and in-person assessment/evaluation includes the determination of optimal time and location for patient management (ER, clinic, homecare) and follow-up care as required.
  • Collects and assesses significant patient history information and performs all necessary patient teaching.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required.
  • Will be knowledgeable in administrative requirements for the documentation of patient's condition, progress and acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
  • Demonstrate excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity IAW requirements.
  • Demonstrate and adhere to peri-operative, infection control and safety policies and procedures used in the MTF and IAW JC guidelines
  • Schedules referral appointments, arranges for procedures, and performs telephone Follow-up, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate good time management skills.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Pediatric Critical Care / Nurse Anesthetist Job Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license. Any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Clinical competency within the past two years
  • Bachelor's Degree of Nursing from a National League of Nursing (NLN) approved
  • school; Master's Degree in Nurse Practitioner from an a American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accredited school
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • ACLS
  • Worked continuously as an AANP for at one year of the last two years as an AANP.
  • Board Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (AANP) certification
  • Certified Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner
  • DEA - have or obtain prior to starting 
  • U.S. Citizen
