The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) - Pediatrics job is within the military medical system and is a civilian position. Civilian and military personnel work together in the extensive military medical system. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) - Pediatrics Job Qualifications:

  • Initiates, performs and completes assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations within the scope of practice.
  • Completes assigned patient care based on the patients' conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report and record relevant patient information. 
  • Observes, identifies and responds to the patient's needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care and patient/family education. 
  • Prepares and administers prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and performs treatments according to established policies/procedures. 
  • Recognizes urgent or emergent patient care situations, seeks assistance of the RN and/or Provider, and initiates appropriate emergency interventions as directed. Participates as a member of the MDG Rapid Response Team for emergency situations (within the scope of practice). 
  • Performs support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient's condition before, during, and following the procedure. 
  • Ensures all equipment is properly assembled, operates, cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift. Ensures preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed. 
  • Performs medical records reviews and applies appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine medical needs. 
  • Maintains required certifications and completes required MDG training and yearly CEUs. 
  • Performs other duties within the LPN scope of care and MDG policies and procedures 
  • Orients peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice. 
  • Integrates healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families and employee satisfaction. 

 

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) - Pediatrics Job Qualifications:

  • BLS
  • Certificate
  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLNAC accredited vocational nursing program
  • One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation
  • LPN/LVN Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license. Any U.S. state honored.
