The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist job is within the military medical system and is a civilian position. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Job Overview:

  • Design, implement and monitor individualized strenght and conditioning programs for the 308 RQS 
  • Assist the PT/I with rehabilitation program exercises. 
  • Perform postural and biomechanical analysis to assist with identifying contributing factors relating to faulty movement patterns. 
  • Utilize the results of tactile and functional movement assessments to make recommendations concerning corrective exercise strategies 
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the POTFF facility. 
  • Provide guidance to help prevent injury and to maximize the operator's physical conditioning and performance. 
  • Participate in periodic meetings to review the care provided to operators and identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Serve as an adviosr to the designated representative in matters related to injury prevention, sports medicine and rehabilitiation. 
  • Serve as an advisor to the designated represenative for administrative matters purchasing of supplies and equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests. 
  • Colladborate throughout the POTFF community to enhance the quality of programs delivered. 
  • Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure the POTFF staff stays current with the provision of programming. 
  • Provide input for the development and utilization of the POTFF data collection strategies 
  • Participate in the collection and reporting of workload data as requested by the Squadron Commander 
  • Assist the designateed representative in developing and updating criteria-based on job descriptions and performance standards. 
  • Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment used and contribute to a safe training environment 
  • Shall be capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe SOF training evolutions, the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols, and the ability to lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 20 kilograms. 

 

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Job Qualifications:

  • BLS
  • Bachelors Degree in an accredited exercise science health science, or physical education-related discipline
  • Certifications by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • Certification - CPR and AED training
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with elite level athletes within the SOF commuity, NCAA, or professional sporting ranks
