Physician - Family Practice position in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

The Physician - Family Practice job is based within the extensive military medical system and is a civilian position. Civilian and military personnel work together in hospitals and medical clinics provide services to the active duty military service members, military retirees, and their families and provide a full range of medical services.

Physician - Family Practice job overview:

  • Performing a full range of general medical services to include the ability and experience to adequately diagnose and treat urgent/acute diseases and injuries
  • Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases and injuries to include, but not limited to, the following: 
    • Upper and Lower Respiratory Infections
    • Ear, Eye, Nasal and Lung Infections
    • Minor Heart Disorders
    • Minor Allergic Reactions
    • Simple Hay Fever
    • Asthma
    • Eczema
  • Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately perform medical procedures.
  • Be able to efficiently navigate through electronic documentation and various computer based programs (CHCS, AHLTA, Microsoft Office Programs, etc.)
  • Prepare records and reports as required in support of services rendered in accordance with established procedures.
  • Attend and participate in patient care reports, patient care conferences, team conferences, professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities only to the extent that such attendance and participation is relative to his/her assigned cases and/or performance of contract services as determined bythe COR or Chief, Department of Primary Care.

Quality Improvement shall include the following responsibilities:

  •  Assist in quality improvement data collection and review
  • Help with problem solving regarding quality improvement issues
  • Participate in multidisciplinary functional groups and process action teams as     needed
  • Uphold established patient care and practice standards
  • Participate in ongoing review of clinic policies and procedures and make appropriate revisions as required
  • Review and submit reports as required
  • May be assigned to other clinics in the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital footprint on a temporary basis as needed or for additional on the job training
  • Participate in all mandatory training

Physician - Family Practice job requirements:

  • BLS 
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.

    This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.

  • PALS
  • Continuously privileged as a Physician for at least the two years 
  • BC/BE 
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine. Any U.S. jurisdiction.
