The Radiographic Technologist job is within the military medical system and is a civilian position. Civilian and military personnel work together in the extensive military medical system. The hospitals and medical clinics provide services to the active duty military service members, military retirees, and their families and provide a full range of medical services.

Radiographic Technologist Job Overview:

  • Precept x-ray students and train new personnel as required.
  • Interpret orders, assess clinical history to determine the most effective protocol, understands and adjusts imaging parameters, selects appropriate accessory equipment and presents optimal images to radiologist for interpretation as required. HCW will prepare and administer all forms of contrast media and routes of entry and recognize and respond to contrast reactions as required. HCW will assist radiologist in performing special examinations (including fluoroscopy and arthrography). HCW will follow Infection Control standards, dispose of medical waste, sharps and disinfect equipment as required by the MTF. HCW shall adhere to all radiation and patient safety practices as required by the MTF. HCW will perform other related duties as assigned. 

Radiographic Technologist Job Qualifications:

  • BLS
  • Certificate
  • Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
  • Experience in performing/assisting with fluoroscopy, arthrography, special examinations and bone densitometry to include but not limited to patient preparation, sterile field preparation, and contrast media preparation.
  • Minimum of one year of experience within the last three years as a Radiologic Technologist
