Chiropractor Assistant Job Overview:

  • Performs patient check in and check out, appointment scheduling, cancellation and rescheduling
  • Determines patient eligibility for care and refers patient appropriately.
  • Performs medical record review to search for previous relevant test results and referrals related to chiropractic care.
  • Maintains files and records according to regulation.
  • Stocks and orders clinic supplies to include office and medical supplies. 
  • Prepares meeting reports as needed.
  • Interacts with various members of the patient care team and coordinates patient care with other clinics both internal and external to the MTF to include radiographic testing and procedures that may be accomplished through the managed care support contractor.
  • Maintains treatment areas and exam rooms according to established standards and regulations, to include cleaning and preparing rooms in between patients
  • Maintains all clinic equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and regulation.
  • Coordinates maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Escorts patients to treatment areas and exam rooms, instructs patients as directed by the provider, takes vital signs as directed.
  • Administer complex, specialized supportive physiotherapy treatment in areas such as, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, vibrator massage, heat, cold, diathermy, transverse friction massage, trigger point therapy, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretches according to provider orders and established protocols.
  • Report unusual patient treatment response or hazardous or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor immediately acts as chaperone when requested. 
  • Provides patient care instructions at the direction of the provider and established protocols. 

 

 

Chiropractor Assistant Job Qualifications:

 

5.2. Task 2 Qualify (Qualifying/Credentialing): In addition to the education, certification and experience listed in the basic contract and the position description, Tinker AFB: Degree: Chiropractic Assistant Certificate. Education: Attend a formal training program as a chiropractic assistant, nursing assistant, physical therapy assistant, operating room technician or other similar medically related support type occupation. Experience: One year of experience as a Chiropractic Assistant, or similar position, after graduation. Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a chiropractic assistant if required by the state as required in the TO 

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Able to use various programs, such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project to generate a range of products (i.e., tables of contents, import graphs or databases, create glossaries, align multiple columns, print document, identify files or make other notations at the top or bottom of each page, and create form

letters and automatically merging these with mailing lists). The contract personnel will also be required to operate the ALTHA, CHCS and any additional computer system as needed for 

 

demonstrate clinical competency within the past two years in the required clinical discipline as specified in this PWS.
