Cardiac Catheterization Technician (Endovascular) Job Overview:

  • Perform Peripheral Vascular Angiography/Endovascular Intervention and Cardiac Catheterization services 
  • Provide clinical assistance in the CVOR and Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab for vascular and endovascular surgery.
  • Work in the CVOR will also include set-up and assistance for coronary angiography. 
  • Set up room and sterile tables for peripheral vascular, coronary and cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. 
  • Assist the surgeon, cardiologist, or interventionalist as required during procedures. 
  • Assist in the post-processing, storage, archival and completion formalization of diagnostic and intervention images of the performed procedures. 
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies for the endovascular operating room and cardiovascular catheterization laboratory. 
  • Ensure proper preventive maintenance, routine cleaning, and radiation safety testing/quality control practices are performed as directed for fixed imaging system in the CVOR. Assist with these measures for the fixed imaging within the cardiovascular catheterization laboratory.
  • Provide assistance in other cardiopulmonary service areas, specifically in the CVOR and the Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratory, at the discretion of the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. 
  • Assist the physician during invasive and noninvasive procedures to treat cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias. 
  • Technician must operate, control, and monitor patient vital signs using the MACLAB hemodynamic monitoring system. 

Cardiac Catheterization Technician (Endovascular) Job Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Registered Cardiovascular Technician Certification (RCVT, RCIS) program, accredited Radiology Technologist program with a Certified Radiation Technologist (CRT) and The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). 
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Experience performing or supervising functions such as producing radiographs, assisting with cardiovascular fluoroscopic imaging (either peripheral or cardiac), and specific radiographic procedures/interventions. 
  • Minimum of two years professional Endovascular & Cardiac Catheterization experience.
  • Worked full time or part time (greater than 20 hours per week) as a professional Endovascular Technologist and/or Cardiac Catheterization Technician for a minimum of 2 years with at least 12 months in the last 36 months.
