RN Health Educator (Family Medicine and Pediatric Clinic) in Jacksonville, NC. 

The Registered Nurse (RN) Health Educator position is based on Camp Lejeune and is a civilian position providing services within the extensive military medical system, which provides services to active duty service members, military retirees, and their families. Civilian and military personnel work together in the hospitals and clinics.

Registered Nurse (RN) Health Educator Position:

  • Develop an assessment plan in collaboration with the patient and other hospital clinic, departments, and community resources.
  • Use a preventive model of health (as available from the Healthy People 2020) as the basis for assessment.
  • Assess the preventive health needs of the patient.
  • Assist in the data collection process.
  • Interpret basic patient data.
  • Use assessment data in the development of priorities, expected outcomes and interventions.
  • Assess the health risks and behaviors of individuals and their families.
  • Assess impact of culture on health related practices and beliefs.
  • Initiate and maintain community partnerships to develop a network of resources for patients being seen.
  • Counsel and educate individuals and families about health issues.

    Implement multilevel approach for health promotion and risk reduction.
  • Empower patients to improve health by educating the patients on healthy lifestyles.

Registered Nurse (RN) Health Educator Requirements:

 

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by NLNAC or CNE
  • Minimum of two years health education experience within the last three years
  • RN Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted. Any U.S. state honored.
