Job Opportunity for an Editor in Albany, NY. 

The Editor Position overview:

Responsible for editing any reports or documents presented to and at the request by the Department.

Begin the editing process by fixing any grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors. Also double check names, places and organizations and that facts, dates and statistics for accuracy. The work may involve contacting writers' sources and/or conducting online research.


Editor Candidate must have:

  • Excellent written English, good spelling and grammar skills.
  • Meticulous attention to details.
  • Must have the ability to produce high-quality work with tight deadlines.
  • Must have good concentration to focus on documentation that may be lengthy or dull
  • Must be able to make good judgement
  • Tactful approach when working with authors
  • Retain the author's 'voice' after editing.

Editor Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two years of previous editing experience
  • Two years experience reviewing and editing scientific medical research documents and reports
  • Strong attention to detail.
