Job Opening for an Audiologist in Bethesda, MD.

The Audiologist position is Monday - Friday days only! 

The hospital facility is Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and is a civilian position providing services within the extensive military medical system, which provides services to active duty service members, military retirees, and their families. Civilian and military personnel work together in the hospitals and clinics. The employment is contingent upon contract award. It is a wonderful opportunity to work in a fantastic medical system serving an inspiring patient population. 

Audiologist Position overview:

  • Provide diagnoses, treatment, and case management to patients suffering from audiological impairment. 
  • Designs, develops, and applies new approaches and innovative methods of problem-solving in the evaluation, prevention, treatment, restoration, management, rehabilitation, and resolution of unique caseload assignments.
  • Participates in the development of protocols to investigate efficacy and effectiveness of new clinical tests, clinical practice guidelines, and standards of care.
  • Serves as a role model for effective Audiology clinical practice skills. 
  • Advises Otolaryngology and Audiology students, externs, residents, fellows and/or trainees who are engaged in advanced clinical projects in preparation of theses, dissertations, and other Graduate Medical Education (GME) projects.
  • Maintains the following education/training responsibilities associated with graduate students enrolled in graduate and doctoral programs
  • Consult with other professionals and medical staff in the evaluation and management of patients with complex and profound communication problems
  • When assigned, will serve and participate in committees, functions and other meetings. Provide relevant and timely information, and assists with decision-making and process improvement.
  • Report to the clinic chief or representative. Will take direction from chief, or representative as required in maintaining a safe environment for staff and patient(s).
  • Participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities, designed to enhance health services.
  • Be involved in direct patient care 

 

Audiologist position Requirement

  • Master's Degree in Audiology
  • Graduate from an educational program accredited by the ASHA, CAA or ACAE
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in the field of Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA-CCCA) or certification from the American Board of Audiology of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA).
  • Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) 
  • SME to interact daily with residents, corpsmen and staff
  • Experience and knowledge with state-of-the-art clinical audiology 
  • Ability to evaluate all age groups (newborns to geriatrics) and capabilities to respond
  • Ability to do comtemporary diagnostic and treatment procedures and techniques
