Federal Staffing Resources has an opening for a Clinical Psychologist to join a resiliency team embedded within a special operations military unit in Homestead, Florida.

Program overview:

The USSOCOM Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF)'s mission is to build and implement a superior holistic approach to address the pressure on the force and also the increased stress on operators' families. The mission is accomplished by increasing the physical, mental and spiritual capacity of the SOF Tactical Athletes over their careers, decreasing the rate of physical and emotional injuries from all causes, and significantly accelerating return to duty times. The program's end state is to prepare, preserve, sustain and ultimately multiply SOCOM's combat power by application of integrated inter-disciplinary personal services teams.

Psychologist provides services at a high standard of quality enabling the POTFF to mitigate the effects of high operational tempos and co- occurring individual and family stress.

Responsible for the delineation, design and application of psychological procedures and techniques for patient care, procedural documentation, consultation and organizational development, research and educational training consistent with DOD and American Psychological Association guidelines.

Basic competencies are expected in diagnostic interviewing, behavioral assessment, psychological treatment of DSM-IV diagnoses conditions, and the use of psychological testing/psychodiagnostic testing for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders.

-Crisis response and follow-up care in the event of unit casualties or other serious incidents

-Provision of individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy

-Use of behavior health measures, symptoms checklists, and psychological / neuropsychological assessment instruments to assist in diagnostic clarification and treatment planning

-Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and patient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required

-Assist and participate in special event informational seminars

-Psychological evaluations required by military schools and/or programs

-Command directed mental health evaluations performed IAW DOD Directive

-Clinical supervision of para-professional staff, students pursuing an advanced degree in psychology, and unlicensed psychologists

Qualifications:

  • APA accredited Internship and Doctorate (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice Psychology (any U.S. State or Territory honored)
  • Minimum of 1 year post-doctoral experience within the past 5 years in the area of clinical psychology
  • Prior experience working with military (DoD, VA)
  • Computer literacy
  • BLS certified by AHA
  • working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical psychology program.

*This position requies the ability to obtain a Security Clearance.*
